AUGUST 2-6: East Cape Offshore Tournament 

In 2000 Bisbee’s Black & Blue Tournaments expanded to the east side of the Baja California Sur peninsula with the East Cape Offshore Tournament in Buenavista. In addition to marlin, this tournament includes dorado and tuna. The event is a laid back, "Cabo fishing as it used to be" type of event. 

AUGUST 8-14: ATP World Tour 250 Tennis Tournament

This tennis tournament will have a total financial commitment of nearly $800,000, ranking as the highest in its category in the Americas region. The new hard court tournament will take place from August 8 to August 14 and will showcase the unique natural beauty of one of Mexico's most important tourist destinations.

SEPTEMBER 21-25: Cabo Comedy Festival 

The Cabo Comedy Festival will bring numerous well-known standup comedians to Los Cabos. This multi-day event takes place at various venues throughout Cabo, including the Hard Rock Cafe, Pink Kitty Nightclub and Desperados. A charity golf tournament will also take place at Palmilla. OCTOBER 14-16: Los Cabos Off-Shore Tournament  

After the success of both the Black & Blue Marlin Tournament and the East Cape Offshore Tournament, Bisbee's started the Los Cabos Offshore Tournament in 2002. Taking place just days before the Black & Blue Tournament, this event is nicknamed "Little Bisbee's." It's a very social event full of camaraderie where friends can meet, swap stories and get in a few days of fishing before the "Big Show."

OCTOBER 18-22: Black & Blue Marlin Tournament 

Started in 1981, the Black & Blue Marlin Tournament has grown from 6 teams with a purse of $10,000 to more than 150 teams with millions of dollars on the line. Baja's Sea Turtle Season

Each June, along the sandy beaches of Cabo San Lucas, female endangered sea turtles begin returning to the show to lay and nest their eggs. Sea turtles are one of the most ancient species that inhabit the earth, being here for over 110 million years. Their shell makes it easy for them to swim underwater, but unlike other turtles, they cannot retract into their shells. Be sure to check out the beauty of our sea turtles when your on vacation in Los Cabos!

Los Cabos Sea Turtles

Two of the world's eight sea turtle species nest in Los Cabos. The smallest, the Oliver Ridley, nests June through December. This species feeds on shrimp, jellyfish, snails and algae, and can grow up to 26 inches long, weighing up to 90 pounds. The largest sea turtle, the Laud or Leatherback, also nests on the shores of Los Cabos during this time. Leatherbacks can grow up to 70 inches long and weigh up to 1,300 pounds. This species will dive up to one kilometer in search of food, with its favorite food being the jellyfish. Both of these sea turtle species are endangered, suffering the effect of long lines, fishing nets, development and illegal poaching. 

Sea Turtle Nesting 

Most mature sea turtles return to the same beach they were born to lay their eggs. Typically, they will come out at night and leave before sunrise. Only about 1 in every 1,000 of their offspring will survive the treacherous journey from the nest to maturity. Once mature, sea turtles don't have many predators, but the hatching process can be quite dangerous. After a 2 month incubation process, the baby sea turtles will hatch and after several days of clawing, will make their way out of the nest. Unfortunately, many of these hatchlings fall prey to birds and sand crabs as they make their break for the sea.
